Immediately following the wonderful meal everyone adjourned to the Lodge Room where Rev. Rich Lang of Trinity United Methodist Church in Ballard, and Ms. Megan Gibbard, Direct Services Supervisor for University Street Ministry each addressed the brethren.

Ms. Gibbard thanked the lodge for our assistance in providing hot meals to the homeless teens in the University community.

It is an Interagency Academy site, and the lead teach is a wonderful social worker named Megan Gibbard.Megan also does case management for homeless youth at USM.She needs to enroll a few more students ASAP or funding for the program will be cut.

Classes meet 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at PSKS, located at 1814 Summit Ave., just off Broadway on Capitol Hill.To reach Megan directly, youth can call 356-9314 or 726-8500 ext. 2.Megan is a warm and wonderful teacher, and students can receive personalized tutoring specifically tailored to their skill level.

Megan Gibbard works at University Street Ministry, where she directs Service Links for Youth, an outreach case management program for homeless youth and young adults.Megan has worked in the University District with homeless youth for over three years, first as an overnight supervisor for the ROOTS Young Adult Shelter.She is passionate about meeting with homeless youth and young adults where they are at through outreach, and particularly passionate about working with queer youth.She received her B.A. in American Cultural Studies from Western Washington University, Fairhaven College; and her Masters in Social work from the University of Washington.
