Kathleen Gibbard - Co-chair, Nominations

Kathleen joined the United Way of Greater Victoria as Associate Director of Campaign in July of 2002, after working for many years in the non-profit sector and more than two years in the field of fund development.The "Y" is very close to Kathleen's heart, and she has worked at the YM-YWCA of Greater Victoria and YMCA Canada. In addition to co-chairing the Nominations Committee for the 2004 Women of Distinction Awards, Kathleen is also a Board member for the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) on Vancouver Island.In this latter capacity, she is the 2003 Chair of National Philanthropy.Born a "military brat" in Montreal, Kathleen has lived in almost every Canadian province.While on vacation in 1998 in the Cayman Islands, she met her best friend and husband, and today they have two sons, Jess (7) and Jacob (4).Family life has fulfilled Kathleen more than she could have ever imagined, and she has never regretted their move to Victoria in May of 2001.
