    BIO: Greg R. Georgeff is a visionary Information Technology leader with diverse experience in the private and public sector.He has built a reputation for getting results in a career that includes a spectrum of IT positions from programmer to CIO.

    He joined the OPS in March 2000 as Chief Information Officer for the Business and Economics Cluster and has played an instrumental role in furthering the Electronic Service Delivery goals of the province.

    Mr. Georgeff came to this position from the private sector where he was, most recently, the Vice President of Information Services at the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement Systems.His acceptance of this position followed nine years as Vice President and Chief Information Officer of NORANDA Inc., where he introduced and implemented a comprehensive business and technology strategy for Noranda Inc. and for its global group of companies.In this position, he moved Noranda to the forefront of information technology utilization including e-commerce activities and a highly sophisticated knowledge management suite of applications while maintaining information technology costs throughout the enterprise well below 1% of revenue.

    Before taking on this leadership role at Noranda, Mr. Georgeff headed his own consulting firm specializing in data communications for such clients as IBM, Northern Telecom and the Bank of Nova Scotia.In the early 80's, he was General Manager, Network Division at Datacrown and Manager, Information Services for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce before that.

    His move to the Ontario Government in 2000 marked a return to his career roots.After graduating from Cambrian University College in Business Administration, he started work as a Systems Programmer in the Government of Ontario and quickly advanced to manage one of the OPS computing facilities.

    Throughout his career he has been driven by a passion for enabling organizations to capture and realize the full benefit and potential of their intellectual capital.Greg also brings proven negotiation and collaboration skills to his position along with an outstanding ability to match technology requirements with business needs.
