   But there will be someday, and Brigitte Geiger is already helping to pave the way for future players.
   
   Geiger, the Mount Olive field hockey coach and a girls lacrosse official, is vice-president of the girls division of the Mount Olive Junior Lacrosse Club. Founded in the spring, the club hosted clinics for about 100 area kids in grades two through eight in June. More than a quarter of those trying lacrosse for the first time were girls.
   
   It is a grass-roots effort to build a feeder program for young athletes in Flanders and Budd Lake. Geiger said most of the young girls who signed up also play soccer, basketball or softball, while the boys tend to be ice hockey players.
   
   Club players will attend skill-building winter clinics at the Indoor Sports Pavilion in Randolph, and next summer, the age-group teams will play in leagues. Second and third graders will mainly get more instruction and play amongst themselves, but teams will play other towns beginning at the fourth-grade level. The organizational structure is similar to travel youth soccer, but on a smaller scale.
   
   "Our hope is we will build it on the rec level, and the boys and girls will have experience when they get to high school," said Geiger, who has been involved with similar programs in Long Valley and Chester. "If we can pass a budget, we can probably get a team started."
