Audrey Gauss was already an international traveler when she arrived in Kenya last week. She was an exchange student in Germany while attending Reynolds High School.Africa, though, always fascinated her.
"I have always been interested in Africa," said Gauss, who will be a first-year student at UNC-Chapel Hill in the fall. Her willingness to embrace cultures outside of her own led her to form the Global Concern Club at Reynolds.
Gauss completed part of her Amani project even before she left this continent. She started a supply drive for the children at New Life Homes at Reynolds that eventually spread to the Career Center.Teachers and her fellow students responded strongly, bringing in diapers, wipes, cups, bottles and clothes.
