    Kent Garlinghouse was recognized for his business achievements, which include transforming M-C Industries from a failing company into a $43 million enterprise with 400 associates and four Midwest plants. But much of the praise from colleagues and friends centered on Garlinghouse's continuing efforts to make a positive impact in the community. One of those efforts is the founding of Topeka Collegiate School. With his wife Susan, Garlinghouse not only founded our school but has remained active ever since the doors opened in 1982. He is past president of the Board of Trustees and the current board treasurer.

During that time he served on various committees and played an active role as a director. Mr. Garlinghouse has been the owner/manager of his own successful company for nearly 30 years. His company is international and has annual sales of $30 million.

    Mr. Garlinghouse received his MBA from Harvard. He is the co-founder of Topeka Collegiate School and serves on the boards of the Washburn Endowment Association and St. Francis Health Center.
