    Linda Gantt has been named manager for Georgia Power's Madison area office, a part of the company's Northeast Region.In this position, Gantt will oversee engineering, maintenance and construction of Georgia Power's electrical distribution system in Morgan, Greene, Walton, Newton, Jasper and south Oconee counties.This includes the Georgia Power offices in the Greensboro and Social Circle areas.She also will be responsible for community involvement and customer service activities in the area.Gantt began her career with Southern Company Services Inc., in April 1977 as a stenographer in the personnel department.Throughout her 27 years with the company, she has worked in a variety of positions, primarily in human resources (HR) as a business representative and a compensation and benefits analyst.For two years, she supported the northern regions of the state for Georgia Power as the HR business representative.She transferred from Southern Company to Georgia Power in June 2001 where she most recently served as assistant to the Georgia Power Northeast region distribution manager.Gantt has a bachelor's of science degree in business management from Shorter College.
