I give thanks to Steven Gamble for teaching me all I know. Gamble is second trombonist with the Tucson Symphony. He has studied with the Chicago Symphony orchestra low brass section, and many, many more.
I also dedicate this article, although not one of my best-written pieces, to the trombone section of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, made up of Mike Becker (principal tenor), Gamble (second tenor) and Bill Davis (bass trombone).
