Patrick M. Gallagher, 59, a partner for 23 years in the Vienna law firm of Curtin, Nolan, Gallagher & Mroz, where he specialized in real estate, estate planning and litigation, died of cancer June 23 at his home in Vienna.
Mr. Gallagher was a native of Washington and a graduate of Archbishop Carroll High School and Georgetown University.He received a law degree from Catholic University.
As a young man, he worked for the Foreign Claims Settlement Commission, an independent agency within the Justice Department.
He was also a lawyer in the office of the general counsel of the Civil Service Commission, where he worked on Hatch Act issues.He later practiced with firms that included Lewis, Mitchell & Moore and Samorajczyk & Gallagher.
Mr. Gallagher was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Vienna, the Knights of Columbus and the Fairfax County and Virginia Bar associations.He was also a member of Delta Theta Phi law fraternity.
