"We fear that many of these animals have been semi-submerged in water for days, and will probably present sicknesses like pododermatitis (lesions in legs), parasitosis, respiratory and digestive problems," said Dr. Francisco Galindo of IFAW.

In addition, IFAW's Pet Rescue campaign will be presented by Dr. Francisco Galindo of IFAW's Regional Office for Latin America.Since 1994, this campaign has saved tens of thousands of dogs and cats from cruelty and abandonment in 11 countries around the world.

This is the third year IFAW has sponsored attendees to the Expo, which is being organized by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) in Miami Beach, Florida.
