BIDDEFORD - Former resident Gerald Gagnon, 71, died Dec. 22 at his home in Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
He was born in Madawaska on March 25, 1931, a son of Randolph and Alice (LaChance) Gagnon. The family moved to Biddeford when he was 7 and he lived here until 1954 when he and his wife, Yvonne, were married.
The couple lived in New Britain, Conn., for five years before moving to Redondo Beach, Calif.
Mr. Gagnon worked in California for Global Marine Exploration, the Scripps Institute and Consolidated American. He worked as a spray painter for Hughes Helicopter in Culver City, Calif., for 20 years before retiring in 1986.
He and his wife moved to Lake Havasu City 15 years ago. He enjoyed fishing, and traveling by RV across country by different routes so he could visit every state. He and his wife had traveled extensively, including trips to Australia and New Zealand.
He was a lifetime member of the Rochambeau Club in Biddeford.
