The court of Buiucani district of the capital ordered on Tuesday the arrest of the bank accounts and assets owned by the newspaper Moldavskye Vedomosti, on a request from Miron Gagauz, manager of the state-run railway company CFM.
Gagauz has sued the publication over a series of articles themed " "De partea cealalta a Lunii" (On the other side of the Moon), published in February and March, which had claimed that the CFM managed was behind illegal businesses.

Gagauz has also sued us in the Economic Court, asking 'protection of the business image' and another 600,000 lei," the former spokesman to President Vladimir Voronin specified.

Ciubasenco considers that the court was pressured to issue such a decision, since Gagauz is a close person to President Voronin and enjoys the protection from his administration.

In the articles, based on investigations, the newspaper accuses Gagauz, among others, of buying from a plant in the Russian city of Tver 18 passenger carriages for 184,000 dollars one, through intermediaries, while producer's price was 138,000 dollars.
