- Dr. Mary Jo Gagan received an achievement award from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire this past summer. She graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 1982 with a bachelor's degree in nursing, received her master's degree in nursing from Michigan State University and received a doctorate in nursing as a nurse practitioner from the University of Iowa. In 2004 she went to New Zealand assisting and teaching nurse practitioners. She taught at the University of Arizona as an assistant professor and worked with doctors in nursing homes in Tucson, Ariz.
