Writer-Producer
Joe Gagen started his career as a journalist at the daily newspaper The Record in Hackensack, NJ. After several years as a freelance correspondent in Europe, Gagen went to work for the award-winning weekly Catholic Star Herald in Camden, NJ. There, he covered the White House Conference on Civil Rights during President Lyndon Johnson's term and concentrated on prominent social issues of the day, eventually writing a series on the migrant farm labor problem for nationally circulated Commonwealth Magazine. He then went on to work as a media relations director for the NYNEX Corporation, and in 1993 entered the entertainment field as writer and producer on a number of video projects and live entertainment programs.
MACBETH IN MANHATTAN is his first feature. Through their company, Cinebard Productions, Gagen and writer-director Greg Lombardo are also developing another feature film, LOOKING FOR BIGFOOT, which Lombardo wrote and will direct.
