Morehouse doesn't offer domestic partner benefits to gay staff, but earlier this month, the college chartered its first gay student group in recent history, dubbed Safe Space, Gaffney said.
"I don't think gay students would feel unwelcome here," he said.
Neither members of Safe Space nor a faculty advisor could be reached for comment by press time.
