Speaking during the same function, Kenya Badminton Association chairman Peter Gacheru said the tournament had been expanded and would be named the Coast International Badminton Championship from next year.

Kenya Badminton Association chairman Peter Gacheru, who is the patron and ardent supporter of this event, has always supported the Coast Badminton Association, and has gone to the extent of encouraging a Coast Inter-national to be organized.

Coastweek - - Kenya Badminton Association produced the toughest Junior side this year, and the Chairman Mr. Peter Gacheru, was commended by the International Badminton Federation as well the Africa Badminton Federation, on the teams performance.
