Po-Ming Fung, M.D. is a native of Hong Kong.He is a Texas Longhorn fan and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry.While at UT, he went on to obtain a Master of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering and was appointed as a teaching and research assistant.Dr. Fung completed his medical school training at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio.He is also board certified in Internal Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Fung has served as clinic and hospital Quality Assurance Director and a Chairperson, Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee while practicing in Massachusetts.He also served as a Clinical Instructor for Internal Medicine at Tri-River Family Health Center with joint appointment at the University of Massachusetts medical school.He has practiced Internal Medicine in Massachusetts and Texas, and has been at Westlakes since 1994.
Dr. Fung speaks fluent Chinese (Cantonese) and enjoys an active lifestyle with tennis, badminton, and most other sports.He is not only an avid Longhorn fan, but also an enthusiastic Spurs fan.
Dr. Fung and his colleagues at WellMed at Westlakes have personally selected qualified specialty physicians for referrals.Most hospital admissions will be made at the Baptist Hospital System.
