Dane Fujimoto

Dane Fujimoto - has been playing taiko with Portland Taiko for 5 years.In addition to being performing member, he serves as Secretary on Portland Taiko's Board of Director's and co-teaches the beginning level adult classes.In addition, Dane serves on the grants selection committee of the Equity Foundation in Oregon which funds programs forpeople who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer (LGBTQ) and other organizations that support equal opportunity for all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Dane is excited to co-lead this 3rd round of Curly Noodle, a discussion forum for Asian LGBTQ taiko players.He feels that it's important to build unity for LGBTQ taiko players in the North American taiko community.

Dane Fujimoto

A Japanese-American, who grew up in Aiea, Hawaii, Dane is the Secretary for PT's Board of Directors and teaches the Adult Beginning Taiko Class.In July 2006, Dane completed PT's intensive artistic summer training program taiko players from Seattle and California.When not playing taiko, Dane visits Hawaii often to see his family.
