The A.E. Robert Friedman-PDCA Scholarship Fund was formed in 1978 to honor Bob Friedman on the occasion of his fortieth anniversary as legal counsel for the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America. He served in that capacity until 1981.

For more than 19 years PDCA has been able to award scholarships to deserving students because of the A.E. Robert Friedman - PDCA Scholarship Fund.A.E. Robert Friedman served as legal counsel for PDCA for many years and at his death a request was made by the family to establish an on-going scholarship program in his honor.

The A.E. Robert Friedman - PDCA Scholarship Fund is open to any high school senior or college age student seeking to further their education.Applications will be mailed after a nomination letter has been received.The nomination letter must come from a PDCA member in good standing and include the student's name, address, age and telephone number, the level of schooling to which the award will be applied (i.e. college, graduate school), and the name of the school or institution, if known, where he or she has been accepted or enrolled.
