Nils received a Bachelor's degree in trombone performance from Indiana University.Nils has served as bass vocalist and trombonist for Northern Harmony, a touring singing group based in central Vermont.In addition to performing, Nils has conducting experience, has written and arranged music, and has recorded two CD's.He has worked in the classroom as a music educator and is a trombone clinician.An experienced dance caller, he has averaged 150 dances per year over the last three years crisscrossing the country with various bands.

Nils Fredland fell in love with dance calling in 2001.He has criss-crossed the country many times since then, calling for dancers in 31 states (as well as Canada, England, Ireland, and Germany!) Nils is known for his technical skill, disarming friendliness, comfortable stage presence, deep voice, and trombone playing.He brings this unique collection of traits and talents to each of his calling engagements.Nils currently resides in a modest apartment in Keene, NH, with his wife Amy and their cat Shade.When he isn't calling in your town, he teaches music at the Monadnock Waldorf School.

He was a featured performer in the 2001 Lufthansa Early Music Festival in London, England and the 1997 - 1999 Lotus World Music Festivals in Bloomington, Indiana.He can be heard on nine recordings, including two BMG released compact discs with Malcolm Dalglish.He received a Bachelor's Degree in Trombone Performance from the Indiana University School of Music.Nils is also one of the hottest dance callers on the American contra scene and teaches music at the Monadnock Waldorf School.
