"We're giving the Classic a complete weekend of coverage that should make any fishing fan happy," said Jill Frederickson, coordinating producer for the Classic.
With a whopping 12 hours of live and nearly-live coverage, the telecasts promise to feed the interest of fishing fans and hook other viewers on the sport.
ESPN, the parent company of BASS, is devoting a sizeable portion of its resources to Classic XXXV.A crew of more than 250 people and over 30 cameras will cover the action on the Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio rivers, the daily weigh-ins at the Mellon Arena and the Classic ESPN Outdoors Expo presented by Under Armour in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
But Frederickson says viewers can expect different coverage from last year's Classic on North Carolina's Lake Wylie. In total, there will be eight hours of live Classic coverage over two days. And "BassCenter" will be live on site, offering news, information and updated standings.
"Last year, we didn't give real-time scoring to viewers because we weren't really sure how accurate it was going to be," Frederickson said.
