    Ocie Franklin Post 3 West Ocie is a former member of the Newton County Tax Assessor Board, a position she held for six years.During her term with the Newton County Tax Assessor's Board Mrs. Franklin received her certification from the Georgia Department of Revenue.Ocie is also a former member of the Newton County Library Board.During early years of her life Mrs. Franklin worked for Newton County Hospital for 2 yrs.As a Nursing Asst., and one of the first Physical Therapist Assistant hired by the hospital.Ocie received her certification for physical therapy from Georgia State University.Ocie has always been an active person in her community; she was a proud business owner of Ocie's café. She is a member of Saint Paul A.M.E Church, where she serves as President of the Sr. Missionary, President Sr. Choir and one of the leading trustees.Loving family of two daughters, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, which is very proud of her accomplishments, also surrounds Mrs. Franklin.
