Lawrence A. Franklin

Larry A. Franklin, 47, of Huron died February 12, 2004 at home from mesothelioma cancer.The family will receive friends Monday (Feb. 16th) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Foster funeral Home, 410 Main St., Huron.Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Edison Memorial United Methodist Church, 10 E. Church St., Milan.Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice Services, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.Larry was born November 13, 1956, in Sandusky and has been a resident of Huron since 1990.He graduated from Edison High School in 1975.Franklin started in various construction fields.After a couple years in the construction business, he decided to embark on his own, building residential homes.He built his first home in 1977.He built about 300 homes during his lifetime.He was past president of the Erie County Home Builders, the North Coast BIA (1988) where he was also a Life Director, and Ohio Home Builders Association (2001) as was a member of the National Association of Home Builders.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Diana Lynn (nee Shafer); daughters Lesilee L. and Ashley M. Franklin of Huron; parents, Lawrence and Madelyne "Jean" (nee Meggitt) Franklin of Florida; sister Janet "Lee" Stover of Amherst ; and aunts, uncles, a niece and a newphew.
