    COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Field Hockey Association executive director Amy Frankenstein has resigned for personal reasons, the organization said Wednesday.

    Since Frankenstein took the job in March 2001, the team climbed from 11th in the world to ninth at the 2002 World Cup.

    During her tenure, the team began a residency program in Virginia Beach, Va., and bought new offices in Colorado Springs.

    "I'm very happy about the things we've accomplished, and I hope the organization will continue to do good things for the sport and its athletes.But for me, it's time to move on," she said in a statement.
