   He computerized the business in the mid-1980sâ€"many years before most small businesses did soâ€"streamlining inventory, bookkeeping, and ordering. Frankel is the fourth generation to run the firm during its 100-year history, working his way up from maintenance person to his current position.
   
   Over the years, Frankel has taken an active interest in the community which supports his business. He's a member of the South-West Kiwanis Club of Peoria, participating in the Kids Day Peanut Sales fundraiser and the Kiwanis Cheese Sales fundraiserâ€"both annual events. For 10 years, he served as co-warehouseman of the Kiwanis Cheese Sales Fundraiser.
   
   Frankel was recognized by the State of Illinois in 1991 and 1992 for his volunteer work at the George A. Zeller Mental Health Center. He's also an active volunteer for the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and participated in catch/harvest programs for the past two years.
