   Peter Frank was born in London, England, in 1944. He was educated at Highgate School, Sussex University, and the University of California, Berkeley. His first degree (from the University of Sussex) is in Mathematics and Physics. He received a Masters in Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1967.
   
   After leaving university he worked for Elliot Automation (a division of GEC), Rank Xerox, and a small consultancy specialising in creative problem solving techniques. He then started Product Innovation Ltd with a view to inventing and developing new products as a career. He has worked in this company ever since its founding in 1977.
