Daniel Fournier has been SITQ's Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer since June 2008.
His mission is to bring a unique and forward-looking vision to SITQ's overall portfolio that enables the organization to take full advantage of promising opportunities in capital markets and therefore optimize its returns.
Among his core responsibilities are the development and implementation of SITQ's property acquisition, disposition and development strategy, in conjunction with the managing directors for Canada, the United States and Europe.
One of his shorter-term objectives is to oversee investments in emerging countries.
Background
Mr. Fournier has broad experience in the Canadian real estate industry.
He has put his talents as a strategist and entrepreneur and his expertise in startups to work for such firms as La Maison Ogilvy and ACNG Capital.
For the latter, he successfully delivered a number of real estate projects for such prominent clients as Standard Life, Radio-Canada and Hydro-Québec.
In addition, Mr. Fournier has been a staunch advocate for stronger corporate governance for many years.
He is a graduate of two of the world's leading universities: Princeton University in the United States, and the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, which he attended as a Rhodes Scholar.
Other commitments
Mr. Fournier is a director of Canadian Tire Corporation, Canadian Tire Bank, Genivar and other organizations.
Among the ways he has given back to the community over the years is by founding and chairing NF Canada, an organization dedicated to awareness, education, research and support with respect to neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that affects the nervous system, bones and skin.
