Titans Radio and Edamerica will honor Wayne County High School senior Jordan Floyd with the Edamerica Scholar Athlete Award Sunday when the Titans take on Atlanta.
The weekly award is designed to recognize an outstanding male or female student athlete who excels in the classroom and in the community.A panel consisting of Titans Radio partners from across the mid south selected Floyd for the award for his accomplishments in baseball, as well as his academic achievements.
Floyd has been a three-year starter at first base for the varsity baseball team and will continue the position in the spring.Floyd hit .301 for last season and was second on the team in RBI's and slugging percentage.Floyd served as team captain for the 2003 season.
Floyd participates in school activities as well.He is an active member in the Key Club, and a member of his church youth group that works with community projects such as the Adopt-A-Highway program.
Floyd will be honored Sunday during Titans Radio's Halftime Report as Mike Keith, Pat Ryan and Larry Stone present live coverage of the Titans and the Falcons.

In addition to receiving a plaque for the award, Floyd becomes eligible for a $1,000 scholarship to be awarded at the end of the season.
