John Floyd ( 6-4 , 215 ) Monroe ( Carroll ) : Caught nine passes for 97 yards as a freshman in 1999 at Southern Mississippi.Named Player of the Game in the Liberty Bowl for the Golden Eagles after blocking a punt for a touchdown.Played quarterback his senior season at Carroll High School , earning first-team all-district honors.Rushed for 167 yards and three touchdowns against Shreveport Northwood.Had 17 receptions for 597 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior to earn first-team all-district and all-Northeast Louisiana honors and honorable mention all-state.Lettered four years with 47 career receptions.

At that point, Dakich was left with only three players who had more than one year of experience and only John Floyd averaged more than 13 minutes per game.
