Flores, sitting in the driver's seat, did not, the prosecutor said.
Instead, Flores swept the cocaine off the center console with his arm and then reached between his legs to the floorboard, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.Flores was repeatedly being ordered by the trooper to raise his hands, but placed only his left hand on the steering wheel and continued to reach to the floorboard with his right.Realizing that Flores was not complying with his partner's orders to raise his hands, the other trooper surprised Flores by opening the driver's side door and dragging him out.
The troopers found a loaded Daewoo .40-caliber pistol on the floorboard directly below Flores' seat. The pistol had been reported stolen. In addition to the cocaine that Flores had scattered to the floor, troopers discovered and seized approximately 125 grams of cocaine in a bag in the backseat of the car.
