    Illustrator Mark Fletcher, a recent member of the Tallahassee group, said he's glad he joined.

    "At the monthly meetings, we read and review each other's work," said Fletcher, owner of Turtle Hill Clay Studio and an adjunct professor at Florida State University.

    The Lake Jackson Protection Alliance hosts "Live Art for Lake Jackson," a benefit featuring artists creating works inspired by Lake Jackson on the spot, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the "Round House," 4913 N.
