Motion previously seconded by Mark Fletcher, JCSU President, this was changed so he could remain in the chair.
...
Mark: As a background to this motion, the JSCU have already been approached about this.
...
Mark: Wendy Andrews was quite clear that it was almost impossible to change this year's ballot.
...
Mark: Basically, it had already been agreed and the ballots organised. She believes the first and second years would be put at a disadvantage.
...
Mark: I believe so, yes.I don't think we can explicitly do anything until we have the approval of other members of college as well, as I'm aware. The tutorial office have to pass it.
Question: How are going to allocate houses and rooms?
Mark: The JCSU have yet to come up with a workable solution, to which we are working towards.
Question: When you make your mind up, will it go to another OGM or will you decide quietly and include first years in the debate?
Mark: In regards to if it were for this year then hopefully we can stay in communication with the people who are most affected i.e. the coming 4th years. For future years we will create a policy that we think will work and present to an OGM.
Question: What about the 1st years who probably don't realise how much this would affect them?
Mark: That's we said this year that it would be almost impossible to work.
...
Mark: James, were you aware of this last year?
James Burberry: No.
Mark: I didn't know about this last year.As I recall it was never discussed in any exec meeting.I don't know is the answer.
James Burberry: Isn't it appropriate that someone moves to amend this motion to require the exec to come back to the next OGM with a proposal to alter the ballot process?
Mark: Can we take a vote on that amendment.
