Mr. Flanagan is a partner in the McLean office of Hogan & Hartson L.L.P. and a member of the firm's Labor and Employment Group.Since joining the firm, Mr. Flanagan has represented varied employers in numerous industries, including health, technology, telecommunications, and energy businesses.Mr. Flanagan handles litigation before federal and state courts and agencies on federal and local civil rights, disability and discrimination matters.He also has considerable experience in other employment matters, including wrongful termination, executive compensation, defamation, trade secret, non-compete, reorganization/restructuring and university tenure issues.His practice includes individual cases and federal class actions, mediations, and arbitrations.Mr. Flanagan regularly counsels and advises clients and provides training on a broad range of employment matters and personnel policies and practices.In recent years, he has focused significantly on particular employment matters facing emerging and new-economy companies.
He received his law degree from The George Washington University, National Law Center in 1988, after which he joined Hogan & Hartson.
Mr. Flanagan is a member of the Bars of Virginia and the District of Columbia Bars, and has practiced before federal courts in the District of Columbia, Fourth and Fifth Circuits and the U.S. Supreme Court.
