    Mr. Flanagan is a highly successful senior executive with an exceptional track record of improving operating profit, directing cost savings programs, plant start-ups, warehouse consolidations, and managing multi-million dollar assets and budgets.He is a continuous bottom line achiever with a successful record in leading, managing and motivating others to exceed business and sales goals.Prior to joining Merchandise Movers, he was Vice President of Product Development for Tractics Corporation that provided a hosted (ASP) Web based technology solutions for Asset Tracking and Yard Management Services.Mr. Flanagan previously worked at Ames Department Stores, a $3.9 Billion in sales discount retailer, where he was responsible for total logistics operations of a 1.2 million square foot distribution center location.He was accountable to a distribution annual operating budget of $30 million and a Transportation profit and loss statement of $93 million.He strategically was responsible for all transportation functions and private fleet management of 228 Tractors and 5,000 Trailers.He also had direct reports in human resources, loss prevention, training, industrial engineering, and safety.His total logistics staff consisted of 54 salaried and 750 hourly associates in a combined union and non-union environment.Previous to Ames, Mr. Flanagan worked at Hills Department Stores Corporate and Distribution Center locations as Assistant Vice President-Logistics.He was a key contributor in the development of a supply chain network that reduced cycle time, increased productivity, and improved financial performance impacting all area's including store operations, merchandising, accounting, I/T, and distribution.He developed and directed 2 assembly point locations through 3rd party providers located in New Jersey and Long Beach California.These facilities consolidated and crossed docked over 2,000 less than truckload import shipments off the East Coast and 3,000 container shipments off the West Coast.This resulted in savings of over $1 million annually in transportation expense.He also managed the development of the capital budget of $1.5 million with resulting savings of $800,000.He reduced transportation cost per carton from $.54 to $.46 on 50 million cartons shipped and received.This produced an additional $2.1 million dollars in net operating savings to the company's bottom line.Mr. Flanagan was also instrumental in transitioning Hills Distribution Center into the Ames Distribution Center environment.This included the changing of warehouse management system, product flow and mix, non-union to hourly union environment, and the closing of former Hills Stores.Mr. Flanagan earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Logistics and Transportation Management at Northeastern University in Boston Massachusetts.
