The cornerstone of any legal profession - its independence from government - is under threat in Scotland, Caroline Flanagan, the President of the Law Society of Scotland said today (May 2) in advance of giving evidence to the Justice 2 Committee of the Scottish Parliament on the Legal Profession and Legal Aid (Scotland) Bill.
