Michael Finch
Michael Finch is Vice President of Development for the Claremont Institute, as of August 6, 2001.His duties involve general membership development, delivering services to members of the Presidents Club, and the general development of the Institute.He has given public speeches on topics involving privatization, the 2nd Amendment, states sovereignty, and educational reform.He has published widely and his articles have appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Detroit Legal News, Illinois Municipal Review, and other publications.
Before joining the Institute in 1996, Mr. Finch was in charge of membership development for Northern Illinois for the National Federation of Independent Business.From 1992 until 1995 he was Public Affairs Director for the Heartland Institute, an Illinois state based public policy research institute.While at Heartland he organized numerous conferences on privatization, trade, educational reform, and other topics.From 1990 to 1992 he was Coordinator for Legislative and Regulatory Affairs for the Industry Council for Tangible Assets, a trade association for coin and bullion dealers.
Mr. Finch received his B.A. in Political Science from DePaul University in 1987.Before attending DePaul, he served four years in the U.S. Air Force achieving the rank of Sergeant.
