Michael Finch hails from Northern England where he grew up amongst the sweet smells of cowfields and daisies.He is working towards a history Mphil at Pembroke, having completed his undergraduate degree here in 2003.Michael is the current maypole dancing title holder of Yorkshire, and his thesis concerns the influence of traditional folk-dancing on the 'somnolent revolution' of popular culture in Jacobin Britain.He is President of the Oxford Maypole Enthusiasts Society, a keen Rugby player, and a fine guitarist.
