  David was born into a Christian home and the spiritual disciplines of Bible reading, prayer, and scripture memorization were instilled early in his life. David attended a Christian elementary school and made a decision for Christ at age 5. During his high school years David dedicated his life for Christian service while at a Christian Youth Summer Camp. He made plans for the ministry by attending Western Baptist College (now Corban College) in Salem, Oregon. In his senior year, he was elected Student Body Vice-President. There he met Linda Rowland and they were married after graduation in 1973. David and Linda then moved to Dallas, Texas where David attended and graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary with a Masters Degree in Theology.   David has been pastor at River Ridge Neighborhood Church since July 1998. He also served as interim pastor from February-June 1998. David also served as an adult education teacher and later Adult Superintendent at Chinese Grace Bible (1991-1997). For nine years (1978-1987), he served as Associate Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church of Roseville. In addition, he has taught at Calvary Lay Institute (1981-1984), Simpson College extension in Sacramento (1987, 1988), and China Baptist Theological College, Hong Kong (Summer 1992).

  Pastor David Finch (1998-Present)
  
  1998 - February 1998 David Finch was called to be the interim pastor for RRNC.
  
  June of 1998, the pastoral search committee recommended David Finch to the Servant Team to be the new pastor of RRNC. Pastor Dave was formally installed as the pastor of RRNC in the fall of 1998.

  David is a retired Methodist minister of the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference living in the Ballymeade section of North Wilmington.A graduate of Asbury College and Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY, he served a number of churches in the State of New Jersey and twice as district superintendent.Twenty two years of his pastoral leadership were spent as senior pastor and head of staff in four large membership churches.Following retirement in 1999 he completed training and received certification as a transitional interim ministry specialist.Thereafter in this capacity he was appointed to churches in the Peninsula-Delaware and Greater New Jersey Annual Conferences, including Grace Church in Wilmington, DE. In addition to his duties and held positions at various administrative, organizational, judicial and educational levels of the annual conference and general church.He was a delegate to the General and Jurisdictional Conferences, a director of the General Board of Global Ministries, a lecturer in United Methodist Studies at Princeton Theological Seminary, and a pioneer in the adaptation of future search planning concepts to local churches.He stays mentally and physically active through, reading, consulting, occasional writing, golf, billiards, and exercise at the Brandywine YMCA.David is married to Bonnie.Their blended family includes five children and twelve grandchildren.Ashley, age 23, lives at home after graduating from St. Joseph's University in '06.Bonnie loves sewing, gardening, Bible studies, and assisting with the care of two grandchildren living in Boothwyn, PA; Sean, age 8 and Kara age 4.You may contact David at dfinch5@verizon.net
