Rev. David Finch, Pastor for Church Administration
David is a retired Methodist minister of the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference living in the Ballymeade section of North Wilmington.A graduate of Asbury College and Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY, he served a number of churches in the State of New Jersey and twice as district superintendent.Twenty two years of his pastoral leadership were spent as senior pastor and head of staff in four large membership churches.Following retirement in 1999 he completed training and received certification as a transitional interim ministry specialist.Thereafter in this capacity he was appointed to churches in the Peninsula-Delaware and Greater New Jersey Annual Conferences, including Grace Church in Wilmington, DE. In addition to his duties and held positions at various administrative, organizational, judicial and educational levels of the annual conference and general church.He was a delegate to the General and Jurisdictional Conferences, a director of the General Board of Global Ministries, a lecturer in United Methodist Studies at Princeton Theological Seminary, and a pioneer in the adaptation of future search planning concepts to local churches.He stays mentally and physically active through, reading, consulting, occasional writing, golf, billiards, and exercise at the Brandywine YMCA.David is married to Bonnie.Their blended family includes five children and twelve grandchildren.Ashley, age 23, lives at home after graduating from St. Joseph's University in '06.Bonnie loves sewing, gardening, Bible studies, and assisting with the care of two grandchildren living in Boothwyn, PA; Sean, age 8 and Kara age 4.You may contact David at dfinch5@verizon.net
