  DAVID FINCHA former member of the DOC National Executive, David is currently serving as one ofthe Quebec Region's Co-Chairs.Director/producer David has been makingdocumentaries for network television over the past decade.His work, often biting andgritty but always compelling, has aired in Canada and internationally on CBC, CTV, LifeChannel, History Television, Radio-Canada, TVO, Global, Discovery, and theKnowledge Network.His films have garnered numerous awards, including honours atHot Docs and Yorkton, as well as an International Emmy nomination.David has alsoproduced for television series such as Life Channel's edgy docusoap "Out in The City".More recently, David has moved into directing fiction, and has plans for more in thatgenre.For the past four years David has also directed the live circus that is the 2880Film Blitz.When not behind a camera or helping care for his two children with partnerMaureen Marovitch, David teaches film production at Champlain College.

  David has directed over a dozen acclaimed documentaries and several fiction films that have been broadcast in Canada and around the world. A multi-award-winning director and producer, his awards include an International Emmy® nomination, Gold and Silver prizes at Worldfests Flagstaff and Houston, the Golden Sheaf Award at Yorkton, the Chris Award at the Columbus Film and Video Festival and a Best Social Issue Documentary nomination at Hot Docs. David also teaches digital filmmaking and media studies at Champlain College.

  David Finch made his debut as a film sound recordist in 1988.After making "Longshots" with Maureen Marovitch in 1993, David spent several years as a TV field producer at CBC Montreal and CFCF-TV.
