Bill Finch, 68, of Sacramento, Calif., a retired analyst for the state of California and a kind of senior-citizen, online-dating guru in his parish community.
He tells senior groups that he speaks to that by not having an online presence they are missing out on a chance to meet the 50 percent of West Coast households that now own computers.
Finch said he is looking for a suitable partner eligible for marriage in the Church.Meanwhile, he said he has made some great friends.
He belongs to several of the Catholic singles sites.He consults with some site managers and has designed his own "speed dating" events to help people make friends beyond their parish.
"Don't let it be overwhelming," Finch advises first-time users.
