Ruth Marie Filmer, loving mother, wife and friend, died Sunday, May 23, 2004, at the Sharon Lane Health Center.Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Sunset Hills Christian Church.Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.Friends may call a the church from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday.The family suggests memorials to her church.

Ruth was born Nov. 9, 1920, in Beaver City, Neb., and had lived in the Kansas City area since 1957.Ruth was a graduate of the University of Kansas.She was married to Wayne Flynn for 57 years.She taught for 25 years at the Hazel Grove Elementary School in Kansas City, Kan., and was a very involved member for 47 years at the Sunset Hills Christian Church.Ruth and her husband had wintered for 20 years at Bentsen Grove in Mission, Texas.Her husband preceded her in death in 1998.
