TUCSON, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 8, 2004--Breault Research Organization Inc. (BRO) has hired Dr. Kyle Ferrio to lead the company's continued development of optical software products in the position of optical software scientist. He brings to the position more than 15 years of experience in electro-optical research, computational physics, intellectual property assessment, and project management.
Ferrio's previous positions include optical scientist at Kaman Aerospace, senior process development engineer at Corning, post-doctoral scientist and research associate at the University of Arizona's Optical Sciences Center, and post-doctoral National Research Council fellow at the Army Research Office.
Effective May 1, 2004, Ferrio has assumed the position of optical software scientist, becoming the primary kernel developer for the Advanced Systems Analysis Program (ASAP(TM)).BRO began conducting interviews for the position when ASAP's chief architect, Alan Greynolds, announced his intent to resign as chief technology officer earlier this year.A consulting agreement between Greynolds and BRO has ensured continued attention to the kernel during the transition.
With help from Greynolds, Ferrio has become fluent in the software architecture maintained during two decades of continuous development of ASAP.He is performing minor upgrades to specific parts of the kernel and is planning significant fundamental enhancements in the near future.According to Kyle, "We will give optical designers more ways to innovate."
