"The success of the Performance Tent was because performers were able to use the school building as a greenroom," said Alvena Ferguson, festival coordinator.
"The tent worked because of that greenroom. It has a kitchen, two toilets, three or four small rooms for changing and storage and a central room with tables and chairs for performers to eat, relax, tune instruments. There are no toilets inside the School of Arts or proper greenroom facilities and we can't expect world-class performers to use public toilets, or port-a-loos.Another tent would not be a suitable greenroom for storing equipment or costume changes or for performers to take a break."
Mrs Ferguson said the building was earmarked for demolition before the festival but council delayed the plan until after the event.

Mrs Ferguson said the building had been used for a number of years in the past and could accommodate use into the future until council plans for Laurieton Common arrive on the works agenda in 2013.
"Without that building the success of this year's festival would not be repeated," she said.
