Dan Fergus was born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in White Plains, New York.From 1985 through 1989 he attended the Rhode Island School of Design where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in illustration.Upon graduation Dan moved to Minnesota.Since 1990, Dan has taught drawing, traditional illustration, computer illustration, interactive design, multi-media and web design at Brown College (formerly Brown Institute).In the fall of 2004, Dan began pursuit of a Master of Fine Arts degree in Multimedia/Interactivity from the University of Minnesota.
In addition to teaching, Dan works as a freelance illustrator & designer.He offers a variety of art and design services: illustration, commissioned art, greeting cards, graphic design, web design and multimedia.In addition to traditional media like watercolor, acrylic, oil, gouache, color pencil, and ink, Dan uses a variety of digital applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, After Effects, Final Cut, InDesign, and Premiere.
