    Dr. Fenichel received his medical degree from the Yale University School of Medicine, and his post-graduate training in neurology from the National Institutes of Health and the Yale University School of Medicine.Dr. Fenichel's specialties include neuromuscular disorders and neurological complications of immunization.

    Fenichel joined the faculty at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine as professor of Neurology and Pediatrics in 1969.He served as Chairman of the Department of Neurology and Neurologist-in-Chief at Vanderbilt University Hospital until 2001.He currently holds the position of Chief of the Division of Pediatric Neurology and Neurologist-in-Chief at the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.Fenichel has received numerous honors throughout his career, including the Hower Award of the Child Neurology Society in 1997 and the Zimmerman Award from the Muscular Dystrophy Association in 1998.He is board certified in Neurology with special competence in Child Neurology by the American Board Psychiatry and Neurology.
