Leon Fenhaus, regional vice president of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees, will address the question, "Why Unions?"at 7 p.m.The public is invited to attend.
A railroad worker from the Black Hills, Fenhaus has served as an officer in the rail workers' union for 20 years.He lives in rural Clay County.The BMW union represents workers who build, maintain and repair railroad tracks, buildings and bridges on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad in South Dakota and on many other lines across the United States.
Fenhaus will talk about the history and status of organized labor in America and how labor unions benefit members and even non-union workers.
