Chester "Unc" Fencil, 80, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Fencil was born March 29, 1923, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late James and Josephine Vopat Fencil.

As a 15 year old, Chester also was active in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was employed by U.S. Steel Corp. at National Tube, with 43 years of service. Chester was also a member of VFW Post #3368 of Mt. Pleasant, a life member of Hecla Sportsman's Club and the Shaft Club. He is survived by his loving family: his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Jean Liska Fencil; his daughters, Barbara Magyor and her husband, Thomas, and Caroline Rodgers and her husband, Robert, both of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Eric Magyor and his wife, Kathleen, of Frewsburg, N.Y., Kim Magyor of Pittsburgh, Troy Magyor and his wife, Jennifer, of Ruffsdale and Rita Levergood and her husband, Ian, of Hawaii; a great- grandson, Eli Magyor; and his sister, Helen Androstic of Latrobe. In addition to his parents, Chester was predeceased by five brothers, Edward, James, William, Charles and Raymond Fencil; and six sisters, Anne Carruth, Ella Zember, Rose Fencil, Mary Wallace, Martha Filo and Besse Dell.
