Samuel D. Fells

Samuel D. Fells, age 39, the oldest of nine siblings from North Carolina, was raised in Hollis, Queens.He has been incarcerated for 19 years, during which time he earned an A.S. degree from Albany Junior College, a B.A. from Syracuse University and a Master of Professional Studies degree from New York Theological Seminary in June 2000.He attained certification in food service and an apprenticeship from the NY Department of Labor as a counselor aide.He facilitates Alternatives to Violence workshops, Youth Assistance programs and parenting seminars and has completed the Inmate Association program to become a teacher's aide.His goal is to create a youth organization to assist progressive teens.His motivational scripture is Proverbs 31:8-9.
