A resident of Copeland Oaks Retirement Community in Sebring since 1995 and a former resident of Minerva, she spent most of her life as a resident of Ravenna. She was born Feb. 11, 1912 in Oneida to Willard and Jessie (Clark) Crowl. She was a teacher at Augusta, Palmyra and Stow High Schools. For 35 years, she was a Librarian at the Kent State University Library. At the time of her retirement, she was the documents Librarian. She was a member of the Ravenna Chapter #46 Order of the Eastern Star, Ravenna Coterie, and the First Christian Church of Ravenna. She graduated from Ravenna High School in 1930. Received her Bachelor's Degree from Kent State University in 1934, a Master's Degree from Kent State University in 1944 and a Master's Degree from Ohio State University. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Kenneth Crowl. She is survived by two nieces, Helen Czerpak of Greenfield, Theresa Brim of Minerva; four nephews, Robert (Doris) Crowl of Albemarle, NC, Clyde (Sabra Jo) Crowl of Ocean Isle, NC, Francis (Marge) Crowl of Minerva, David (Darlene) Crowl of Marietta; many great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; great-great-great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. David Parry officiating. -
