Kayla is a former All-England tap dance champion. She is a graduate of the Workshop Theatre, University of Leeds and Ecole Jacques Lecoq. She has also studied mask play with Berty Tovias at the Estudis de Teatre in Barcelona.
Kayla was a founding member of Conspiracy Theatre, winner of the 1997 Sunday Times (London) Best Ensemble Acting Award for their NSDF production of Steven Berkoff's Decadence.

Kayla joined SaBooge in January 2002 as an ensemble creator and principal performer for their original production Hatched, which played in Montreal, Kingston, New York, Philadelphia, and Dublin Ireland, and has taught with the company through community initiatives, their International Summer Arts Festival, and through workshops at Queen's University and the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin. Since 2002, she has created and performed the roles of Lizzie, Buffo and Mignon (Hatched), Lady Jane Franklin (Fathom) and Ruby (Speak Easy).
In Canada, Kayla has also performed with Theatre Kingston, appearing in their 2003 production of George F. Walker's Problem Child and Toronto's A Sadling's Theatre of Joy and Wonder on their original creation Wilson: A Christmas Play.
In 2005 Kayla was invited to perform in the British Council sponsored tour of Unlimited Theatre's Neutrino at the Skirball Centre, Los Angeles.
Kayla is currently performing in NYC as part of Slava Polunin's clown ensemble in Slava's Snow Show at the Union Square Theater.
